Debi Latte Closes Mystery Anniversary Week in Fun-Filled Event

On Sunday at Noon, May 23rd, the 4rth Anniversary week of events at Mystery was all set to close as it began: with Debi Latte singing live aboard the Queen of Hearts riverboat club. Her velvet voice would be what was needed for a memorable finish.

It didn't quite turn out as planned.

The event was almost finished before it started with Debi crashing. And then an odd thing happened. Debi was able to log back in, but her avatar didn’t appear. It was like a disembodied voice speaking from nowhere.

With no Debi on the stage, Tygeria put something else on the stage: “newbie Linden” mannequins. After a few minutes, she put other things on the stage. For a corny but slightly macabre touch, three singing skulls rezzed over the stage, along with another blowing into a saxophone, and another on bongo drums. Then came a dancing leprechaun, smiling, which would occasionally stop for a sip of dark beer.

Eventually, Debi reappeared, flying back onto the deck. She had gone away some distance from the crowd to try to rezz. But having no luck, she had to dig out a newbie skin. She poked fun at her own predicament, then saw what Tygeria put on the stage, and laughed. Mystery staff member Ayjay Carpenter commented, “Who said variety was dead. Ventriloquism, a chorus line, great singing, a vanishing act. ... all in the first 25 minutes!” With all the crashes, Ajay was wearing a helmet. Someone else remarked, “Only in Second Life can your back up group be skeletons - some newbies - and a drunk leprechaun.”

And so, the event continued, with Debi occasionally chuckling about the menagerie on her stage, which soon included a rustbucket robot that later fell to pieces, and otherwise looking at the good side of things, “What a terrific day.” Tygeria put back a few of the newbie mannequins, but left some up. Debi sang her music like only she could, songs such as “Daydreaming,” “I Will Be Here Waiting For You,” and the club’s trademark song, “Queen of Hearts.” Someone in the audience muttered an emote: “D-E-B-I SL DIVA GODDESS.”

Debi sang for an hour, then the event came to a close. Despite the technical glitches and having to use a newbie avatar, she enjoyed herself that day. Tygeria’s sense of humor helped. She would later describe the event on Facebook, “Seems that SL wanted to be crazy today and not let my avatar back in after a crash.... but... the show went on.... my amazing audience stayed til I got in with a freebie avatar... and we had fun aboard the Queen of Hearts in spite of the technology!!!!”

Just in case this does happen again, someone passed her a package of freebie “Wingless” furred avatars. So perhaps next time, Debi really will be a “foxy girl.”

“You've been talking to Tygeria toooooooo much. LMAO!”

Mystery Celebrates Four Years in Second Life

It was four years ago this week that the Mystery sim was founded. And to celebrate, Tygeria Mirabeau and her staff are throwing a week of special events. They started out with a bang with Debi Latte singing live from the Queen of Hearts riverboat club. But Mystery has much more to celebrate besides the parties. There are new attractions, and even a sister sim appearing.

Mystery to Begin Four Year Anniversary With Debi Latte

It was four years ago next week that the Mystery sim was founded. And to celebrate, they plan on holding a week of events. The fun starts tomorrow, Sunday May 16th when at Noon, Debi Latte comes to the riverboat club to sing live. Tygeria Mirabeau and Amythe Midnight, the sim owner and sim manager, had praise for Debi, saying she had always made time for Mystery and it’s people.

Amy and Tygeria told SL Newspaper that they plan to do more than just hold events. They have been working on a sister sim, the Isle of Conundrum, which will open durring the celebration. The sim will offer sailing, romantic cuddle spots for couples, and retail space for stores. They also have new attractions on Mystery for visitors and regulars alike to enjoy.

“You never know what to expect at Mystery.”

Debi Latte Sings Live at Mystery

At the Mystery sim on Sunday April 11, regulars to the riverboat club got a real treat. Debi Latte came to the ship at Noon to sing at the live music event, her graceful voice being quite memorable. Also memorable was an example of the sim owner’s mischief.

Ghost Ship Crashes Live Music Party at Mystery

On Friday afternoon, the Heart of Mystery Riverboat Club at the Mystery sim held one of it’s live music events. At 1 PM SL time was Zorch Boomer, whom provided blues and pop music to the crowd. At 2 PM came Lexie Luan, “The great music continues on the top deck of the Queen of Hearts as Lexie Luan takes the stage at 2pm!! Come hear this wonderful singer today!! Hope to see you here!” Sim owner Tygeria Mirabeau and sim manager Amythe Midnight were there. Micah Giha was the host.

With the sim at nightfall, the graceful Lexi wowed the crowd as she sang while strumming her neon-pink guitar. The audience responded with applause, “Woo-hoo”s, and comments like “Over the fookin’ edge.” A couple times, fireworks shot over the club, providing a little flash and color to the show.

Later in the show, the party got a visitor of a more supernatural and aquatic note. A roar like an ocean wave could be heard, but there was no sign of a big wave below. Then the audience saw the wooden bow of an old-time sailing frigate plowing through, but it harmlessly passed through everyone it touched. A ghost ship!

In just a few moments, the vessel had slid across the deck of the riverboat club, the stern leaving a little water in it’s wake, which vanished as the ship sailed on. The ghost ship sailed on for a little longer, and soon faded into the night from whence it came. The audience paused for a few moments before Tygeria called for the party to resume.

Lexi left the riverboat at 3PM, but before doing so revealed a little surprise for Tygeria with the help of Amy. Even though the musician left, some of the crowd stuck around for a little longer to continue the party.

On another note, Mystery is currently hiring additional hosts for it’s events. For “Themed DJ Events, the base pay is 150 L for two hours. For live music events, base pay is 150 L. The pay is in addition to tips given to the host by those attending, which can exceed what Mystery pays. Those interested are asked to contact Micah Giha or Amythe Moonlight by notecard (IMs tend to get capped). They are asked to follow rules for a PG sim.

A Few Valentines’ Day Happenings in Second Life

Valentine’s Day hasn’t gotten as much attention this year as previous, at least from my point of view. Maybe more people were knocked off SL by bad weather than before. Maybe people are just feeling blah. A few of my friends openly disliked the holiday, saying with the trouble they had finding someone, the holiday seemed like a cruel joke. One flower shop owner told me while bouquet sales weren’t too bad, she expected much more. Maybe this is why some places never bothered with this theme on Friday, Saturday, or at all

Still, there were a few events. The Mystery riverboat club had some Valentine-themed events last week, such as the red, white and pink party on Friday. Saturday had no party. But on Sunday Valentines Day, the Mystery sim had things all set for a heart-filled good time. At 12 Noon SL time, DJ Bentham began broadcasting the romantic tunes. The wolf Silverwolf Sweetwater was the hostess of the party, as always lifting a friendly paw to all visitors. People danced to music like “Love Game” by Lady GaGa, “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” by Areosmith (“Armageddon” theme), “All I Ask if You” (The Phantom), “White Wedding” by Billy Idol, and others. Jetta even put up a recording of her singing “My Guy.”

Unfortunately, there were a few technical difficulties that messed with the party a miss. Yours truly ran into a glitch when trying to tip the DJ, which sent his account down to -1 L. Someone looked up the details, “[Posted 12:55pm PST] There are current issues that are preventing some logins, as well as affecting in-world transactions, teleports and related actions. Our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. In the meantime, please refrain from any sensitive transactions or rezzing any no-copy items.” This naturally got a few in group chats rolling their eyes, “Ah yes were would SL be without problems? (laughter).” Because of this, tips were lighter than usual.

Despite the glitches, the people at Mystery were determined to have a good time. People wisecracked and joked, “Plumbers are red, Hedgehogs are blue. Would you press start and be my player two?” Corky Darkstone added to the humor by going next to SilverWolf and changing into another feral wolf avatar. People began cracking jokes as to whether Silver now had a boyfriend, “Hi-ho Silver, awaaaayyy!” Silver herself joked, “Oh look, a twin brother.”

There was a bit of confusion when some people found themselves knocked to the corner. Confused, they walked back, only to find themselves slammed against the wall again, or thrown out of the building. Then one of the staff noticed a dancer had on a forcefield, and he was then asked to remove it or leave. The man did so, profusely apologizing.

There was a 300 Linden prize for the man and woman for best in theme. Asemia Avedor won for the ladies. Jedrek Leodhais won the male contest. For Mystery, it was a glitchy, but happy, Valentines Day.

Other clubs had their parties. At 1 PM SL time, Cutlass had it’s Sunday Euro-party, the theme naturally being Valentines Day. DJ Tamara Peart played the tunes for a small party, “Another Day in Paradise,” “I Want to Step Right With You on the Mountain,” “Love is in the Air,” “Unbreak my Heart,” and others. It was not a large party, possibly due to SL glitches limiting teleports, and Tammy’s tip jar was empty. But the party went on.

On Friday February 12 and on Valentines Day, the Lindens had their “Kiss a Linden” event on Isle of View and Isle of ViewToo, from 7-9 AM and 5-7 PM SL time. As their blog stated, “Never met a Linden before, or interested in celebrating Resident Volunteers? Come on over and enjoy the lovin’! And there’ll be even more love: look out for Cupid Linden on February 12th & February 14th, she will be flying around and looking forward to meeting you! “ Besides the Lindens, there would also be volunteers to kiss.

Reporter Gemma Cleanslate had the fortune to see people, Lindens and residents alike, having an ideal, romantic, time. Yours truly stumbled across what the poor volunteers had to go through sometimes. There were no Lindens around, just a couple volunteers. And they had to deal with a few characters from Woodbury, a sim with a reputation for harboring griefers. They included a guy wearing a lampshade and a self-described “kissable griefer,” taunting the volunteers. Not exactly Valentine’s Day greatest moment.

Some moments were more important than others. There was meeting up with friends whom were feeling dispirited over not having found someone. Time spent together, reminding each other they were not alone. They still had their friends.

So to those who found their special someone, and those whom need cheer from being unable to find love, may your Valentine wishes come true.

Mystery's "Evil Christmas"

With most everywhere else enjoying a cheerful little Christmas, the normally romantic Mystery sim decided to give those whom find all the cuteness a bit sickingly sweet a break. Check out Mystery's "Evil Christmas" party in Community.

Winter Comes to Mystery

Winter came to the Mystery sim recently, the scenery now sporting a snowy look. And on Sunday Nov 8, they had their first big weekend live music event to celebrate. Debi Latte sang to the dancers at the Heart of Mystery riverboat club.

Tygeria Mirabeau’s Surprise Rezday Party

On Wednesday October 7, Mystery’s manager Amythe Moonlight secretly IMed a number of people to ask them to drop over to the Heart of Mystery riverboat club at 4 PM SL time. The reason: a surprise rezday party for sim owner Tygeria Mirabeau. Tygeria had first appeared on Second Life four years ago, and a month after she held a birthday party for Amythe, it was time for the manager to return the favor. There was already a live event on schedule, and Amy was going to turn it into a birthday bash.

From Tygeria’s point of view, things went normally at first, people porting in, and singer Ichie Kamachi starting her live performance. Then all of a sudden, everyone went “Happy Rezday Tygeria!” to a stunned sim owner. After she got her composure back, she thanked everyone for the pleasant surprise.

The party and music went smoothly for a while, then the sim crashed, with people ending up elsewhere when they logged. Some of the people ended up in Zindra, leading to a few jokes the Lindens were trying to get the party a little wilder. The party was temporarily moved to a store, but eventually the sim was brought back online and people headed back. Tygeria joked that this was the work of the “masked lover” frequenting her sim in an attempt to be alone with Amy, though Amy swore no one came by to see her.

The “masked lover” Tygeria has been looking for was never caught, though a picture was taken showing an unidentified masked man dancing with Amy. No one seemed to recognize the avatar. Might this be the mystery Don Juan Tygeria has been after? So far, no one knows, and the 2000 Linden reward for the identity of the “Seducer” still stands.

Mystery Sim Frequented by Carousing Casanova

On a recent visit to Mystery, I had a talk with sim owner Tygeria Mirabeau with senior manager Amythe Moonlight standing nearby. I noticed a rose in her hand, but thought nothing of it at first. It was in the middle of the conversation when Tygeria brought up, “We have a mystery on Mystery, Bixyl.” I asked if she meant the supposed ghost in the manor. “Graver than that,” she answered, then went over to a lamppost and hung something on the wall, when it rezzed, it read: “WANTED - For Seducing my senior manager. 2K reward for information leading to his apprehension. IM Tygeria Mirabeau with information.”

“See this poster?” she asked me, “I will find him. This man is crafty, Instant-messaging through items, and getting newbies to deliver Amy items. Very neat.” She then pointed to Amy, who stood there seemingly stunned quiet, “Note her silence.” “Of course I am,” Amy finally spoke up, blushing, “I don’t know what to say.”

“I would have thought nothing of it,” Tygeria continued, “but the names in instant messages come with no profile, blank. Then searching for the owners of his objects, they were addressed to a newbie. The IMs are dedicated during to club events to Amy in song. It is a wonderful seduction. And now, I am extremely curious.”

“Wonderful seduction?” I asked. “Yes,” she answered, “him seducing Amy. Note her rose.” Amy’s only response to that was a blush. Tygeria continued, “She likes it. It was anoyminously sent. It is transferable, so no history. Of course it is a wonderful seduction. Amy is silent, and this unfolds nicely.”

“Well, I am kind of curious too,” Amy admitted. “I think the signs will scare him into making mistakes,” Tygeria reasoned, “Post another at the cafe while I’m here. I will keep setting traps. Can you help me, Bixyl? Clean up after? I don’t want a messy capture ... of this seducer, this Don Juan, this masked lover.”

It was about this time that the music changed to a romance theme. “Awww, he chooses nice songs,” Amy sighed. Tygeria pointed at her, “She, she unwittingly aids him.” She then sighed as well, “He does remind me of Zorro, though.” She giggled a bit.

Tygeria openly thought, “Maybe I should hire a bodyguard for Amy?” That got a shocked expression from her. I asked, “It's become that much of a concern?” “No concern,” Tygeria answered, “I’m curious. I’m part cat, and want to know.” She pouted a little, “I’m just curious, I am assured Amy is safe.”

Tygeria them asked me to report any suspicions to her, then ported away. Amy stood there, silent for a few moments, then excused herself and left as well.

As of now, there are still no clues to the identity of Amy’s secret admirer, and the 2000 L reward still stands.

Happy Birthday/Rezzday

There’s just something about a birthday party, or a rezz-day party as in Second Life people often prefer to celebrate that. Even among those who throw parties every week, these celebrations stand out.

Two friends of mine had birthday parties in SL a few months ago, Blarion Gazov and Nydia Tungsten. Nydia being a Sunweaver DJ, her party had lots of music and people dancing around, living it up, with a couple avatar designers showing up among the attendees. At one point, half of us were dancing on a “Carmeldansen” cube.

Blarion’s party was a surprise, planned by Aikun Neiro and Gwyendalin Gausman (real life daughter and mother). Aikun invited him over to their beach island on Fearly while the rest of us hid, then we rushed forward, “Happy Birthday Blarion!” After his, “Aw, gee ...” We all sat down for a fairly relaxed celebration. There was a little funning around, notably when one guy insisted on sitting on the hot grill, inspiring crack jokes if hot dogs came with “warm buns.”

On Labor Day weekend, two notable people had their parties, one birthday, and one rezzday. Pooky Amsterdam’s birthday was on Saturday September the 5th, and so she invited a number of friends and media audience regulars to a place. Hopping over, what we saw was a smaller version of her “The 1st Question” game show set. Among the people there was Chantel Harvey, a Machinima director, as were others on Pooky’s staff such as Kat2 Kit and Geo Meek.

Pooky explained she didn’t celebrate her rezzday as her experience in Second Life really didn’t begin until later, “The party was great. It inaugurated the new mini-home on Treet Island.” I was really glad to see Wiz & Texas there, and all my Friends. It really was a blastoid.”

On Sunday September the 6th, Tygeria Mirabeau gave her best friend Amythe Moonlight a surprise rezzday party. Live entertainment was part of the event, Lyn Carlberg and Taunter Goodnight. She sent regulars to the Heart of Mystery riverboat club notecards with the time of the party, and asking them not to tell Amy before the party, “For four years in SL, my Amy has been very wise, or foolish to not run away screaming. To me, she has been my guide and help, my teacher and my dearest friend.”

And the party went well, with many attending and a good time held by all. Tygeria herself got a surprise, her friend Jazzz Hermit logging in, taking a break from college. Amy did a little humoring around, “It’s my rez day and I will if i want to! You would do it too if it happened to youuu ...” But mostly, she felt humbled, “I have been blown away by all this, totally overwhelmed. I feel lucky to have such wonderful friends.”

So whether you’re a DJ, a sim & club manager, a media entertainer, or just a likable guy, there’s nothing quite like a birthday/rezzday party in Second Life.

Mysteries of Life:

Life is full of mysteries, The Marie Celeste, found abandoned on the high seas, with food on the table ready for eating yet no-one onboard the vessel. The wondrous patterns formed on the earth that can only be seen from thousands of feet in the air, yet made by ancient mankind. Lord Lucan, the peer that vanished after a horrible murder. The last one unsolved despite the many so called sightings of the man.
We at the SLN offices also have our own mystery, one that was supposedly a straight forward suicide of a colleague and friend last year. Distraught with grief and anger, many believed he jumped from his island home, into the sea and drowned as a broken man. Indeed a note found on the beach stated he could no longer continue.
There are rumours, however, that sightings of a man very similar in appearance to our ‘late’ friend have been reported. Odd glimpses at strange times of the night. Imagination perhaps of minds remembering a man, wishful thinking on the part of people hoping to put a close to the odd events of last year? Maybe, who knows?
An envelope was found on the reception desk, no note enclosed, just a pair of photographs that pertain to be of our journalist friend.
This reporter will endeavour to trace all those who may have seen, or thought they have seen Baron DeSantis and will place what he is told in print, to let you, the readers make up your own minds.
Is the Baron really gone from this realm or is there some substance to these strange reports?

Interview with Tygeria Mirabeau

Tygeria Mirabeau is the owner of the romantic-themed sim Mystery, and the head of the “Heart of Mystery” team that runs the place. A beautifully designed place, as well as the location of several live music events every week that always bring in crowds, Mystery was and remains a popular destination in Second Life, having recently celebrated it’s third anniversary.

I recently got a chance to interview Tygeria, and met up with her and her friend Amythe Moonlight.

Bixyl Shuftan: So, how did your story in Second Life begin?

Tygeria Mirabeau: (smiles) I began Second-life, well this life on Second Life, as a dancer. Working almost from day one in a club called Slide-on Inn. I was an Emphasis dancer and nothing more. From there I did a lot of freelance party planning and eventually helped to support and manage a club called Paradise 69 for a time with my, (sighs), intended. But the wedding on Christmas was not to happen, and the Club and my relation came to an abrupt end. But at same time I became a dance at Heaven Club and Casino.

I worked up to become the lead dancer/host, then to manager. Not a very exciting start, but throughout I posed for many photoshoots. For some reason photographers sometimes like my look. The notice and attention got me sought after in SL as a party planner and host for special events. Then that club closed down, and my was searching for a new home. This is when me and the Queen of Hearts Riverboat club became wed to each other. You already have me words on that from the magazine. That issue is the first one I wrote extensively. I have been with the Queen ever since, and through friends I met Amy, and here we are.

Amythe Moonlight: (smiles)

Tygeria Mirabeau: Amy thinks at times her role with me is small, or her do little to this dream, which was mine you, but now it is ours and she is vital to the history and to its future.

Bixyl Shuftan: Could you tell a little more how you meet up?

Tygeria Mirabeau: At a live artist concert, a mutual friend invited Amy and I, we met up and I ended up logged out of Second Life, with typical 'back then haste and flair,' could not log back in for hours. The next day, I IMed Amy to see her works and shop. As soon as I thought I had a good look at what she could do, I immediately asked her to build me the memorial shrine we have on Mystery, a place of reflection and remembrance of those we have lost. I remember she was scared and new to custom building for other than friends, and did not know what charge me.

Amythe Moonlight: (laughs) No I didn't. I had no idea.

Tygeria Mirabeau: When I got the price from her assistant at the time, Ayjay Carpenter, I told them, “That is a nice price, now give me a real one.” Hee-hee. That was our beginning. I had her do more and more piece work. Then Amy told me, she wished to be part of something but had no idea what. So I quickly gave her a dancer title at the Queen of Hearts. And to date, Amy is still the Dancer of the Queen of Hearts.

Tygeria Mirabeau: Or club bunny. Hee-hee

Amythe Moonlight: O.O

Tygeria Mirabeau: Amy from the moment we met is the fire that we at Mystery all need at times to keep going. And as I say in all my business, to lift people’s worry for a time. We do not make profit. All we do is live on donations and silent gifts here. But the work we do, the smile for the heartbroken, the shoulder for one to cry on, the hand to help the ones in need or ones lost, sometime it may seem we are caught in the mad rush to be the brightest or best. But that only bring more to the door. So we say, “It all right, come here, let’s talk, let us help, and lets have fun along the way.”

Bixyl Shuftan: As the club has been going on for three years, there must be a lot of stories to tell.

Tygeria Mirabeau: Stories? So many. Good, bad, hopeful and sad. Weddings are held here, for marriages that fail and succeed. Musicians start their careers in Second Life here. And there are final farewells. We loved many and lost many at the Queen of Hearts and Mystery, from Mannie Madonna who built the Queen to my beloved close friend Thea Eberhart, permanently offline. To the great successes that have come to us in even daily matters.

The staff have turned over many times, and still quality new faces come to replace what we lost, like SilverWolf Sweetwater and Emma Yorcliff and Karra Fitzpatrick.
And through the good times and bad there was my Amy. For my 48 hours straight in work for the Queen with only food and restroom breaks, to the times they do not directly need us there. But 1st life comes into to interrupt Second Life at times.

Bixyl Shuftan: 48 hours straight? That is a long time.

Tygeria Mirabeau: And I was away for a few months. ... (Giggles) Amy can tell you. I was, ummm, out of it.

Amythe Moonlight: 8 months I think?

Tygeria Mirabeau: I was recovering from a, failed surgery.

Bixyl Shuftan: I’m sorry. :(

Tygeria Mirabeau: and my Amy kept my dream alive. As Amy mutters, she had a little help with a member of the staff, Bloodrose Writer who gives the most wonderful events.

Bixyl Shuftan: Oh yes, the "Evil DJ" as you called him.

Tygeria Mirabeau: A DJ the likes of me and Amy will agree we have never seen before and for him to help us was great. Evil DJ is right, but he has not been around often. But just today we got word he will be back, and more often and on schedule within next few weeks.

Bixyl Shuftan: sounds good

Tygeria Mirabeau: As we talk Bixyl, you can see that my story is tied to the people who support me.

Bixyl Shuftan: Oh yes, you've mentioned some people.

Tygeria Mirabeau: And I somehow weave them into my dream and have them realize their dreams as I realize mine.

Bixyl Shuftan: I've noticed the Queen of Hearts has a good deal of live music. When did it start?

Tygeria Mirabeau: Once I dreamed of a place where I could sing in Second Life. And when I setup here in Mystery, then called Centering Place, I wanted to set that up in spite that I cannot sing. So live music at the club has been going on, with few stops at most, the entire time we been open on this sim.

Bixyl Shuftan: You mentioned some in your staff have been on duty for as long as 48 hours straight. What was the occasion?

Tygeria Mirabeau: (smiles and laughs, and looks to Amy)
Amythe Moonlight: It was our second anniversary wasn't it?

Tygeria Mirabeau: First and second.

Amythe Moonlight: Our anniversary events take a lot of planning and work. Tygeria barely stops at all at that time.

Tygeria Mirabeau: February and March are difficult times in 1st life, so we had lots of turnover at that time in staff, and it always falls down to me and me Amy.

Amythe Moonlight: So we work. :)

Tygeria Mirabeau: And work.

Amythe Moonlight: till it's done.

Tygeria Mirabeau: No story of the Queen of Hearts would be complete without a special mention to Ayjay Carpenter, the man behind almost of out crazy ideas and crazy dreams, the scriptor and landscaper of all you see here, save some special bits.

Bixyl Shuftan: Sounds like he's done a lot.

Tygeria Mirabeau: Yes, but like all my ideas, these always have not been done before, so he has a lot of hair-pulling. Bur he always comes up with an answer we can work with. So again I say Bixyl, my foxy reporter, my life is tied to the people who listen to me.

Bixyl Shuftan: What was his most ambitious project?

Tygeria Mirabeau: Ayjay’s most ambitious project will be on market this summer: a new vendor unit. And my Amy’s most ambitious project is a special low prim on-demand virtual housing system. Her build is being done in conjunction with Ayjay’s. But shah on detail for now. Hee-hee.

Bixyl Shuftan: You've had quite a number of events. Besides the anniversaries, what were some of the more memorable ones?

Tygeria Mirabeau: *ties a bow on foxies tail*

Bixyl Shuftan: (chuckles) A bow tie event? ;-)

Tygeria Mirabeau: Yes, we have hats, gothic romance, wings is a big one but the sim hates us for it, and all the colors and beach parties. At this cafe, we are to have events here soon. We are always trying new things here. Mystery is always changing, and we go around to update and change things. Even here. And now me and Ayjay and Amy are discussing changes and updates as we are here discussing now. This place is seasonal and ever changing. And this how we do it. Not just by build set and forget, but always, daily, weekly, monthly, look at what we want to do next, and go for it.

Bixyl Shuftan: Any upcoming changes that you are free to mention?

Tygeria Mirabeau: Well, the Employee Art Exhibition will be in July. Changes to the cafe and a beach party here, not on the Queen, next Friday. As season changes, the spring flowers will fade, and then we will go to summertime.

The Mystery Murderset may start, but that is a Mystery for now.

Bixyl Shuftan: You're planning a murder mystery, pardon the pun, on the sim?

Tygeria Mirabeau: Amy? I am innocent remember.

Amythe Moonlight: (giggles)

Tygeria Mirabeau: Amy please talk.

Amythe Moonlight: The Mystery of Mystery Manor is one thing we have planned. And also, yes, a series of murder mystery dinner parties in the manor and village. We are currently looking for interested parties to be involved. :)

Tygeria Mirabeau: The role as a fox still is available if foxie agrees. *smiles innocently*

Bixyl Shuftan: *chuckles* "fox story?"

Tygeria Mirabeau: Or Tail of Mystery.

Amythe Moonlight: I like that! Tail of Mystery!

(jokes and chuckling from all for a bit)

Tygeria Mirabeau: And lastly, we hope to have a wedding this season.

Bixyl Shuftan: Oh? Who's getting married?

Tygeria Mirabeau: Working on those parties at the moment, but it seems promising. I would say me and my Amy but her never gives the same answer twice. I loves my Amy, but her heart belongs to another so I cherish what me and my Amy do share.

Bixyl Shuftan: Anything to say about Jazzz Hermit?

Tygeria Mirabeau: My Jazzz, he is in Music College for performance and is in the heavy test time. I loves him and he had to choose, and I wait for him. He’s doing so well, he now doing full orchestrations and concerts. But he is sending us completed materials to keep the magazine going. I miss him so.

But now, we are enjoying some good success that are part of Jazz's doing. We are in top 20 my Amy, b-places?

Amythe Moonlight: Yes we are: http://b-places.com/bp_newlocations.php?p=2

It was about this time the interview concluded, and after a few pictures, we went our separate ways.

“It is nice to be able to make people smile and laugh and lift their burdens for a moment. But without help, good hard working friends, none of this would be possible. So to tell my story or the story of the Queen of Hearts, it’s nothing without their touch.”

Mystery’s 3 Year Aniversary

By Bixyl Shuftan

It was three years ago that the Mystery sim was created in Second Life. And to celebrate, the Heart of Mystery Group is holding a three day 3rd Anniversary event-filled weekend from Friday May the 15th to Sunday the 17th to celebrate, filled with dancing and live music from Mystery’s own singers and some talent from outside.

The fun began on Friday May 15th at 11 AM SL time with the “Color’s of Love” party, with people wearing red, white, pink, or a combination. At 1 PM, Lexie Luan sang live on the top of the Queen of Hearts riverboat, followed at 3 PM by Ichie Kamachi with her graceful notes. The audience danced away to the live songs, occasionally getting a few Linden coins dropped onto them from above.

Saturday, the event started at 11:00 with a dance party on top of the Queen of Hearts, with Debi Latte singing on the stage, starting with “All of Me.” Mystery’s leader Tygeria Mirabeau wore a revealing dress that kept with her “Queen of Hearts” theme with all the hearts placed on it. The largest part was an animated cape which had a heart pattern that flowed like water. Tyg joked that Debi looked “delicious,” and the joke led to her starting a raffle with the prize being the winner getting to bite her (the results will be in a later edition of Mystery’s magazine). The party did have a hiccup when several people crashed at once, and rerezzing took a while with some people remaining gray for a noticeably long time on a number of residents' viewers. But the party went on with Debi’s gentle voice singing away.

At 12:00, the party went downstairs to the riverboat’s ballroom. The “Come As You Are” contest with Tygeria herself as DJ offered 500 for the best male and female each. Plus there was the exploder which got into the hundreds at times. It was quite a party, even if SL was acting up at first, though soon things settled down as we danced to “Queen of Hearts” and other songs. The winners were Anny Sweetwater for the women. Danilindo Wulluf was runner up for the men, with a certain reporter ending up with the top prize.

At 3 PM, it was back to the top of the riverboat. Kiaranne Flanagan sang while playing her guitar. This time the lag that hit the party before was largely gone. So everyone was more free to concentrate on Kiaranne’s music, which had Tygeria reaching for tissues at one point. The singing and dancing went on for a few minutes past the planned ending at 4 PM.

Sunday May the 15th will be offering three musicians singing live. At 2 PM SL time will be Mystery’s own Lyn Carlberg. At 3PM, Dallas Horsefly will be singing live. And last but not least will be Kim Seifert at 4 PM to conclude the anniversary party for the Mystery sim and the Queen of Hearts riverboat club.

Mystery is in the sim of the same name, with the “Queen of Hearts” club in the southeast.

Interview with Jazzz Hermit

The romantic-themed sim Mystery is a place with numerous sites and attractions, notably the riverboat club “Queen of Hearts.” There are also quite a few planned events, such as the daily dance parties at the club and the bazaar sales. Helping sim owner Tygeria Mirabeau manage these, as well as editing the sim magazine, is Jazzz Hermit. Jazzz also describes himself as “mildly courting” Tygeria. I recently had a chance to meet up with him, and he talked a little about his time at Mystery.

Its a 'Mystery'

I was invited to a dance party in the Mystery sim a few weeks ago. It is always a pleasure to be in that sim. This time I was introduced to the visionary creators of this magnificent place.
