Pueblo Blanco Community is proud to announce its grand opening celebration for Saturday, April 3, 2010 from 2PM to 4PM SLT. As part of our grand opening celebration, we are planning a sim wide hunt, a party, freebies, $1,000 giveaway for best male and best female.  Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring their friends, loved ones, and partners.
Pueblo Blanco is a virtual representation of an Andalusian rural environment in Spain.  Several styles of homes and shops exist on Pueblo Blanco.  Some homes have security and privacy features. All tenants share the free common facilities made available to them, like the rowboats, fishing, grotto, horse rides, and more. Beautiful rolling hills, winding narrow roads, spectacular white homes and tiled roofs and romantic park makes this a community you’d want to spend the rest of your second life in. Flirtatious! Grand opening

What are your plans this Friday night?  I can tell you where you should be: Flirtatious!  Located at Reverie 47, 64, 45 (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Reverie%2047/64/45/) on a mature sim, Flirtatious will be holding its grand opening on Friday, November 20!  Co-owners Chip Silverfall and Treasure Zarco describe the atmosphere at the club as strictly fun with a 70’s and 80’s vibe, “But not the pop stuff you hear all over,” says Chip, “The stuff people actually listened to back then!”  The club has a lineup of DJs and live performers that will keep the jams pumping through your speakers and on these nights the music will stray from strictly 70’s-80’s and will cover a variety of genres.  I recently had a chance to sit down with the owners and ask them questions regarding the new place.

Is this your first club in SL?

“Yes.”

What made you want to open a club in SL?

“It was a whim,“ answered Chip with a slight grin, “I needed something to do and Treasure has great connections in the entertainment industry.”

“I love working the clubs and with the artists,” added Treasure.

Are there any special events going on opening night?

“The opening day schedule will be 3pm Harmonia, 4pm Cranston, 5pm Magnolia Anthony, 6pm Chandra Deed, and 7pm DJ Salina.  We will also have contest boards for best dressed or something similar with 500L going to both male and female winners!”

What perks can be found at your club?

“There are many dances available both singles and couples.  Our club will be featuring DJs Sal, Tommy, and I myself will also be DJing.  There are 7 romantic residences available.  These are skyglobes with changeable scenes, dances, and cuddle and kiss poseballs.  We have a lovers garden where you can sneak away with that special someone and, my favorite thing, the elf dance.”

The Elf dance?  Can you elaborate?

“Sure!  32 dance balls all in a circle that are controlled by a single HUD.  On the HUD there are 50 dances that we have mastered the controls over!  So, when a faster tempo song is playing we know which dance will fit and when the next song is slow, we can have it queued up and ready to go,” stated Chip excitedly.  “This is something inspired by Inspire Space Park.  Their dance was spontaneous and didn’t have as many dances, nor did it have a name, but ours will be held every Saturday at 6pm.”

Is there anything else you’d like to tell us about your club?

“For us it’s all about fun!  If it’s not fun, it won’t be included.  We even have rules about being bored or lonely in our club rules note card.”

Whenever I see a holiday coming I run over to Corner of Revolving Time to see what I can find.
Many renowned creators and builders share their wares free of charge for those who come to the sim. I went there for Cinco de Mayo décor and found the owner Vickijo Rivera busy at work.
There was so much going on there!
We talked about all her new plans. The last time I was there the Corner was still a work in progress as she moved it to the new Relaxation sim.
Vickijo and her business partner and co owner of the sim, JohnJR Romano, look on this place as a place for the whole community. The free plants and décor are all there, but now, below the Corner there is a cave filled with more freebies, makeovers for new avatars, both men and women, and a section of wonderful clocks for sale.
I saw some lovely customized eyes for sale too.
The whole month of May is dedicated to the Relaxation sim opening with a big week of events. Right now R & R Zyngo is holding Grand Opening events, and are giving away 25k in freeplay !
The Razor Mall is having a huge sale this week also.
ClubRLC.com Network, has a special price for streaming that sl DJ’s will be interested in Vickijo took me for a tour and showed me the new 7seas fishing areas where there will be custom fishes from many venues with some special fishing poles created by 7seas designer, Migizi North.
Right now there is a photo contest set up outside the Corner globe with a wonderful photo booth set up for the members use.
We wandered through the camping area for visitors where they can chose to play “Truth or Dare “. Newbies may join the group and chose to set The Corner as their home.

Join us May 17, Sunday, beginning at 8 AM SLT, as designer Asalt Eames, owner of *Sweetaholic, unveils his newest casual collection for his new store +grasp+. The clothing line +grasp+ will show another side to the talented *Sweetaholic designer. Grand Re-Opening of Caliber

Join us as we celebrate the Grand Re-Opening of Caliber in it's new store! Two days packed with fun...treasure hunt, live music, DJs and lots of new items.

Caliber is a unique concept in excellence for all. Within the store falls amazing designs for multiple uses ranging from fantasy to modern wear that both men and women alike will enjoy, fine furniture in Victorian, elven, and Moroccan themes and some of the most detailed period medical supplies in SL.

Aurelius Draken & Nyre Gray, a couple off-line as well as in cyberspace, came to Second Life in winter of 2006. After initially exploring a bit, like many others they rented a property and set about building the home of their dreams. In the process, Aurelius discovered that no one sold the sort of bookcases he wanted for the library, and Nyre couldn't find the sort of dresses she desired, so both began teaching themselves how to build. In February of 2007 they decided to share the things they were creating, and Caliber was born.

Initially Caliber was mostly about clothing; Nyre's dresses were in considerable demand for their femininity and custom-tested fitting. Every dress went through the 'dance-test' to make sure all the prims moved right and had the right positioning even in motion. Little by little, Aurelius' library offerings started to expand into furniture, and people started putting in special requests for things they couldn't find elsewhere in Second Life. That's was the origin of what is now Second Life's most extensive line of medical and herbal products, as well as the Celtic and Persian furniture lines.

Since those early days, Caliber's direction has been driven by the needs of it's customers, fulfilling their visions and enhancing their virtual experiences with beautiful clothing and furnishings. My Precious - Grand Opening (9th May)

Lights, camera, action. Here we are at fashion designer Agnes Finney's grand opening of her "My Precious" store's new location. Agnes, an accomplished Second Life designer, has opened her new fashion sim. The new store provides a fashion display that only Agnes can create with her artistic style and design acumen.

The new fashion display area includes not only the gown and dress displays but a bridal section, a fashion show venue, and a wedding chapel.

To celebrate the grand opening Agnes is holding a photo contest with elite judges from Second Life. The theme, "The Perfect Bloom, Love in May", centers on the most creative use of flowers in the picture and the lovely lady dressed in an Agnes Finney gown or dress. The elite judges include: Mimmia Boa, Miss Virtual World 2009 and one of Second Life's premier fashion models; Chrissy Ambrose of Virtual Impressions owner and jewelry designer; Wurlitzer Seeisenbacher of Friday Night Talk Show CEO and host; and Wil Dreadlow CEO of ICON Magazine.

So how do you participate? The photo contest rules are:
-Entries are limited to members of Agnes Finney -- To My Precious group.
- A picture of you or of you and your love one. The photograph should be in an Agnes Finney outfit.
- Using the photo contest theme, "The Perfect Bloom, Love in May"; be creative with May flowers in your photographs.
- The picture should be a 512 x 512 size and be full perm.

Mami Jewell is the awesome designer who made the gorgeous dress that this year's winning Miss Virtual World 2009 (Mimmi Boa) wore.
Both Mami and edo feel it is time for Mami to go independent again with her own clothing line and that her time with Styles of edo has been a learning experience that each will cherish and are glad to have shared together. Even though Mami is separating from Styles of edo they will continue to have fashion shows together for both name brands and continue to be friends. This is not an ending but a new beginning for the friendship that began five months ago and was built on a love for fashion.

American Cancer Society Announces Grand Re-Opening of Second Life Island Office
Sunday November 2, 2008
The American Cancer Society announces the grand re-opening of the newly re-designed island in the virtual world. For several years, the American Cancer Society has existed in Second Life through its volunteers, Relay For Life event, and an island that served as a central meeting place for volunteers and avatars, of those who are affected by cancer.
Over the last several months, the island has been completely redesigned to meet the growing needs of cancer patients and American Cancer Society volunteers in Second Life. In 2008, the Relay For Life of Second Life volunteers raised over $200,000 USD which cumulated with an event that was attended by more than 2,000 avatars on 35 sims.The new American Cancer Society Island in Second Life will feature a "Hope Haven," a place where the cancer survivor support group can meet regularly and in private so they can share intimate information with each other to help cope with diagnoses and treatment, as well as provide comfort and support for one another.
The new Island will also feature a 4-story, two-tiered office building that will be dedicated to Relay For Life volunteers. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer volunteers, Island Greeter volunteers, and an Information Library. American Cancer Society pamphlets and brochures will provide information related to cancer prevention, treatment options, support and information will be available in the Information Library, as well as informative videos about the history of the American Cancer Society, cancer information, patient support programs, and Relay For Life information.
Visitors will arrive at the island at the Welcome Center, where a volunteer will be available at all times to greet and provide direction and/or information. The island will also feature a Memorial Garden to remember loved ones lost, 2 amphitheaters for large meetings, several smaller outdoor meeting areas, and a medium sized office space in a separate building. Events will begin at 9.30am SLT with an opening ceremony scheduled to begin at 10am SLT, from 9.30 on visitors will be entertained by the lively DJs at T1 Radio while wandering tours take place. There will be greeters stationed around the island to direct and answer any questions and explain the area visitors find themselves in.
At 10.00am SLT opening comments and thank yous will take place hosted by Stingray9798 Raymaker in the Southeast Amphitheatre.
11am will see the Survivors' Makeover/Fashion Show sponsored and supported by FACES with Cinders Vale, Poppy Zabelin and Serendipity Nerd followed by a closing speech from Stingray9798 Raymaker.

The objective of the new design has been to provide visitors with a breathtaking view, peaceful atmosphere, and a comfortable place for volunteers and those seeking information to return as often as they like. "The American Cancer Society plans to utilize the virtual office no differently (in concept) than any other office in any other city," says Jeffrey Montegut, the American Cancer Society's Second Life Manager. "The same services that are offered in a real life office should be available to the Second Life community, because there are real people facing real issues behind each and every avatar. The American Cancer Society recognizes that, and fully supports our volunteers in Second Life."

Halloween fun and a GRAND opening!

Last night was a whirlwind of parties but the party to be seen at was the grand opening of the beautifully built Casablanca Hotel at the Best of SL boulevard it was good to bump into a few friends Pup Witherspoon looked amazing as did Raven Pennyfeather of Rfyre and of course Frolic himself. The hotel looked absolutely amazing whatever time I set the sun at - congratulations to the designers and of course Frolic and best of SL who have lived up to the name with this elegant addition.
This was a great party at Flashman's with a few of the crew. Bixyl turned up to Bat away the Rats running around - but wasn't very effective and unfortunately my spike heels kept missing them too but Mami's newest gown from Styles of Edo was a huge hit all round - look out for the release soon! (I just love previews, means I can wear something no-one else has yet!)

I am not sure about 'beauty and the beast' but beautiful Breezes and the bat? Just don't let him too near your neck Bree!............

I was lucky enough to be invited to join the Burning Life Group before it was closed to new members so I have been visiting and watching the builds as they were completed.

It has been fun listening to the trials and tribulations of the builders in the group chat who have had disappearing prims and textures and missing co-builders.

I visited the community Center which was built by my friend Joao Mastroianni.

This is the place to go to find out information about the various sims and to find tp’s to them.

It is itself is a wonderful build, incorporating Burning Man symbols and pictures and is really the place to start your tour of the 22 sims filled with glorious imaginative art.

The theme of this year is "The American Dream" which seems to be a little out of context considering our universality here.

I have visited most of the sims briefly and what I have seen is so impressive it will be hard to describe it in words.

The last minute rush was on Friday to finish the work as some frantic last minute additions for the opening on Saturday.

Some of the exhibits you must experience for yourself to make your own interpretation of their meaning. Grab a snack and a drink of your choosing and get going.

There are plenty of outhouses so don’t worry about that!

I would highly recommend you prepare for your visit by finding the lowest prim hair and clothing you can and take off all your AO’s and scripts possible.

Those who attempted to go to the Hair Fair will know what I am talking about. The less baggage you carry with you the better off you will be!

You really have to make some time to visit this amazing event!

Those who envisioned their art and then prepared it have spent their last two weeks or longer working on their projects for your enjoyment as well as their own.

I will be writing about various builds that I found especially fascinating in the next week so watch for more about Burning Life.
