Creative Animal Face Painting By James Kuhn

46-year-old James Kuhn uses his face as canvas, to create some of the most eccentric face-paintings you’ve ever seen.

Kuhn says he has always been an artist, drawing in his oatmeal, as a child, but found his passion for face-painting, one day when he was snowed in, and couldn’t get to work. He is famous for taking on a project that implied drawing a different thing on his face, every day, for an entire year.

His “self-portraits” include different animals, foods, cartoon characters and pretty much anything you can think of. Kuhn himself admits he is addicted to face painting, always thinking about what his next design will be.

Beautiful Optical Illussions Tricks And Magic

Al illusion have always fascinated mankind since they were first discovered, raising important questions about the way our brain works. The following optical illusions will definitely test your imagination and observational skills to the max so test yourself to see how you perform.

Despite of many years of research the human brain still has a lot of mysteries that are yet to be uncovered. The way our brain perceives reality is a subject that was debated for a long time and the answers are still pretty vague. Although it might be tempting to believe that what we see and what our minds perceives is identical some of the following optical illusions might make us change our mind. A first example is the default picture where it might seem that there are two triangles but in fact only one triangle was drawn. This illusion is known as the Kanizsa Triangle. Here are some other intriguing optical illusions:

Fraser Spiral Illusion

This famous illusion is known as the twisted cord or false spiral illusion. The contrasts in this picture give the impression of a spiral however, this ''spiral'' is actually a simple series of concentric circles that has the power to trick our brain due to the contrasts formed.

The moving image illusion

Sometimes the contrasting colors and the placement of a certain elements can trick our brain into thinking that some images are moving when in fact they are static. This is exactly the case with the following image.

Cafe wall

Another classical optical illusion is the cafe wall, which was first discovered by doctor Richard Gregory. In this illusion although the lines appear to be bent they are actually perfectly straight and actually parallel. Just take a closer look at the picture and you'll immediately see this.

The Hermann Grind

This illusion first discovered in 1870 is characterized by the “ghostlike” intermittent appearance of lightly colored gray dots that seem to connect the white surfaces and the black background. However, once we take a closer look the dots “magically” disappear. This illusion can be explained by a dissonance that takes place in the receptive field of the brain.

Pictographic ambiguity

Nowadays there are a multitude of illusions based on this concept. Photographic ambiguity tests your imagination as well as your observational skills by placing different images that can be perceived by looking from different angles. Can you spot both the young lady and the older one?

Malice Mizer is a visual kei rock band from Japan. They were active from January 1992 to December 2001. Formed by Mana and Közi, the band’s name stands for “malice and misery”, extracted from “nothing but a being of malice and misery” — their reply to the question “what is human?”. Their earlier music and themes were characterized by their strong French and classical influences, later moving away from deliberate French romanticism and incorporating Gothic-Victorian aspects after several tragedies befell the band. Misfits



The Misfits are an American rock band often recognized as the progenitors of the horror punk subgenre, blending punk rock and other musical influences with horror film themes and imagery. Famous Underwater Paintings

Only in recent times have we been able to go beneath the surface due to advancing technology. Therefore, underwater paintings have only been around for the past eighty years or so. This is why we don't see any underwater paintings from any of the past great master painters. It is a relatively new art form.Because of this reason it has yet to gain the respect from art critics it most rightfully deserves.

Some underwater habitats do seem encourage the terrible artists-mostly tropical and Hawaiian habitats—and these prints or original paintings abound on sites. These range from airbrushed fantasy poster-art of dolphins and whales floating in blue water with bubbles and neon colored tropical fish floating around them to cartoon-like cats with diving masks and snorkels. Some of the most famous of the kitschy artists are Chiu, Mackay, and Annenberg.

Although the most common to popular culture, tropical underwater art is by no means the only habitat seen in underwater art. Some artists feature Australia and the Asian-Pacific. A few artists feature Northern California or the US Pacific Northwest Scuba divers like underwater art.Variations to actual underwater paintings include glass, acrylic, or Lucite knickknacks of diving or leaping dolphins and whales, and even BIG knickknacks (sculptures?) of the same, paintings on plates, mirrors, and portholes (the diver's version of saw-blade paintings). One artist does underwater art inlays on electric guitars, some do silk paintings, and one does both silk paintings and embroidery art.

Prices vary, but paintings of the underwater run more expensive than other paintings; even galleries giving “half off” on kitschy quality paintings charge upwards of $1000, and most good quality paintings run more than $15,000 and are considered an investment.
