On Sunday 16th of December the live aid concert organised by Durell Celt from The lava pit on sunflower island along with SLN and ACS was a huge success raising a large amount for the Cancer society.Durell said; 'I thought the concert went really well people came and donated, the singers were awesome as usual and we had a great day, and yes i'm gonna do a bigger one next year.
So you wanna know why i did the event, well 13 months ago i met someone and we had a great time and she told me of her r/l problems, Cancer,.
She knew i was coming to her country for a holiday and we were going meet up, but she wasn't able to as she was bad. Well later on things were getting better but then came the bomb shell 3 months too live "I sat here on my pc and i cried" she was 27 yrs old what do you say to some one when that is happenning too them? To this day i dont kow if she is alive or up in heaven looking down on us all. So there you have it.
I and Mama Norfolk and all the staff of lava pit will be ready and waiting for the next charity event and hopefully this time we can make more than the 65 thousand lindens we raised, which im sure we will.
I'm over the moon in what we raised, and next year i'll do a bigger one, and try and get other clubs involved'
